Wall

Part of my wall, July 2017. A lot of these things have been taken down for the move. I've had that Back to the Future poster since I was 13. 

I've been making a lot of art journal pages that I really like lately. Been making them before work. Cross stitching as well. Ahh.

Cat

Today we walked around the mall. It's so empty. It seems like it must be very boring to work there. We didn't buy anything, just walked around for a little bit. 

Mona has been curling up next to me all day. She's such a sweet pea. 

I went to the craft store to get thread for my next cross stitch. I also bought a new journal. I've been painting in it. Pretty happy with the things I've painted in there so far. I also made a painting on a bigger canvas this morning that I like a lot. It's just squares, circles, splotches and scribbles in red, yellow, and blue.

Tonight's VHS of the night was Cartoons R Fun-Mary Had a Little Lamb. A few old cartoons. One that I remember watching at some point. One that I didn't expect to be on there.

 

I had a very emotional moment tonight. It made me feel better afterwards, though. 

A day

Today Mike and I had the day off. We went to breakfast. Went to get my zine copied. This time I didn't use the self service, they are going to do it for me. We went to get my phone fixed, but the store didn't fix that kind of screen. So we came back home. Just hung out. It was nice. Tonight's VHS was a Peanuts double feature. You're in Love, Charlie Brown, and Snoopy Gets Married. I'm not sure if that's exactly what it was called. The tape was real cute, though. We are doing a tape a night thing now. Just a day.

Today was just another normal day at work. Before work, I finished a book. Worked on my cross stitch. After work, Mike and I watched the most adorable VHS tape about baby animals. Now I'm just sitting here, slightly drunk. That is all.

Here are some pictures of my room from July 2017. 

Today, I had the day off. I worked on my sixth and seventh issues of my zine. I need to go copy the third soon. Making a zine has really brightened my spirits. I like my zine. Not sure if the other people who have looked at it do or not, but that's okay. It's not political or an interesting story or anything. It's just visual. Collages, trading cards, found items, bad drawings, 35mm photos, and things. I think the one that I made today is even better than the other ones. 

While working on those, I listened to some old mix tapes I made in 2008-2010. I still like a lot of the songs on the 2008 ones, not all of them, but the 2010 tapes are really great. 

My phone screen broke a couple days ago. Not quite sure how. I'm using the fact that Mike took the car to work as an excuse to not get it fixed today. I guess I should soon. I just don't care that much, to be completely honest. But I suppose I should be able to contact people. I didn't get a new one for a month last time I broke my phone a year ago. 

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and my sweet cat was laying on my feet. That may just be one of my favorite things in life. When Mona curls up at my feet. What a sweet heart. 

I want to go into the living room, but at the same time, that's the last thing I want to do.

After my last post, I ended up packing for a while. In fact, I packed until I ran out of boxes and newspaper. Not that I had a lot of either. But it was a step in the right direction. I have a lot of my shelf cleaned off. I think I shall start with the living room. I already feel that I am enough of a pain in the ass to my roommates with all the dumb things I put in there. Mike and I cleaned the living room this morning. It looks very nice. We forgot to get more boxes from work today. 

I've been really into browsing old Geocities pages again. Oh, how charming they were. They don't make them like that anymore.

I'm not sure what Ziggy is looking at right now, but he looks so damn cute.

Cacti

I feel like I'm really going nuts lately. 

Even though I did some crazy shit, I feel like I was generally much better at the whole being an adult thing when I first moved out at age 20 than I am now. 

Maybe I was just excited to be in a new environment. I've stayed at this apartment for two years, which is longer than I've been at one place in my adult life so far. I don't know if that's what's driving me nuts or what. We are hopefully moving out in a few months. I haven't even put fourth any effort into it though. I don't put fourth effort into anything anymore. I am very well aware that it's my fault and that bitching doesn't help anything. You know how it is. 

The idea of packing is making me anxious. I usually do it at the last second, but I feel like I've collected more shit over the past couple years than the previous times I've packed. Maybe not. I know it will be okay. It always sucks but is never that big of a deal. I have exactly four boxes packed. Three filled with VHS tapes (not even close to my whole collection) and one filled with some paintings I've made over the past couple months. Maybe if I find a box lying around today, I'll pack something else.  I have some shit for the thrift store. I'm going to have even more when I go through all my stuff. My closet is stressing me out. I have all sorts of boxes at the top of my closet and have no idea what's in them. Shit that I didn't have a use for but didn't want to get rid of I guess. Let's see if I still feel that way now, once I go through them. It's been two years and I have no idea. 

When we move out, we plan on building a new cat tower, which should be a fun project. I am also excited to buy a new couch. Not a new new couch but a new to me couch. Something real wild from the thrift store. I'm hoping for a floral print that people would now consider "ugly" or just something really bright with wacky shapes all over it. We saw the cutest little couch at the thrift store a few months ago, it had little zebras and giraffes and what not all over it. Just bad timing.
